SUDOS END-USER LICENCE AGREEMENT
================================

Version 1.0
Effective date: 4 September 2026

Please read this agreement before using Sudos. By installing, copying or using
Sudos, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use or distribute
the software.

In this agreement, "Sudos" means the Sudos application, game engine, World
Builder, documentation and files supplied with it. "Licensor" means the Sudos
copyright owner or publisher identified by the lawful distribution source from
which you obtained Sudos. "You" means the person or organisation using Sudos.

1. LICENCE TO USE SUDOS
-----------------------

Subject to this agreement, the Licensor grants you a limited, non-exclusive,
non-transferable and revocable licence to:

* install and run Sudos on devices that you own or control;
* play adventures using Sudos;
* use the World Builder and other included authoring tools;
* create, test, import and export your own adventures; and
* package and distribute your own original adventures, free of charge or
  commercially, for use with Sudos.

This is a licence, not a sale or transfer of ownership. Rights not expressly
granted by this agreement are reserved by the Licensor and the applicable
third-party rights holders.

2. YOUR ADVENTURES AND CONTENT
------------------------------

You retain ownership of the original stories, data, artwork, audio and other
content that you create and place in an adventure ("Your Content"). Sudos does
not claim ownership of Your Content.

You grant Sudos only the technical permission needed to load, process, save,
validate, export and package Your Content at your request. This permission does
not transfer ownership to the Licensor.

You may distribute or sell adventure packages containing Your Content. You are
responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary rights to every element
you include and that your adventure complies with applicable laws. You must not
include content that infringes copyright, trade marks, privacy, publicity or
other rights, or content that is unlawful or malicious.

The right to distribute Your Content does not grant you rights to extract,
reuse or redistribute Sudos itself, its branding, adventures supplied with or
separately for Sudos, or artwork, music, writing, databases and other assets supplied by the Licensor or
another adventure author, unless their owner separately permits it.

Sudos adventure packaging is intended to discourage casual inspection and
tampering. It is not a promise of unbreakable encryption, copy protection or
digital-rights management. You remain responsible for deciding whether that
protection is suitable for your adventure.

3. RESTRICTIONS
---------------

Except where this agreement, applicable law or a third-party licence expressly
allows it, you must not:

* copy, sell, sublicense, rent, lease or redistribute Sudos itself;
* remove or alter copyright, trade mark, licence or attribution notices;
* represent that your adventure or modified software is officially endorsed by
  the Licensor;
* circumvent security or package-integrity measures for an unlawful purpose;
* reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble Sudos; or
* use Sudos to distribute malware or intentionally damage another person's
  device, data or services.

Nothing in this section restricts rights that cannot lawfully be restricted,
including rights granted by an applicable open-source or third-party licence.

4. OWNERSHIP
------------

Sudos, excluding Your Content and separately licensed third-party components,
is owned by the Licensor and protected by copyright and other intellectual
property laws. The Sudos name, logos and branding may not be used in a way that
suggests sponsorship, approval or affiliation without written permission.

Bundled adventures and their assets remain the property of their respective
authors and rights holders.

5. THIRD-PARTY COMPONENTS
-------------------------

Sudos includes third-party software, fonts, machine-learning models and voice
data licensed under their own terms. Those components and notices are listed in
THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt, which forms part of the Sudos distribution.

The applicable third-party terms govern those components. If this agreement
conflicts with a third-party licence, the third-party licence controls solely
for that component.

6. LOCAL DATA, SPEECH AND NETWORK ACCESS
----------------------------------------

Sudos stores adventures, preferences and saved games on your device. It may
contact a third-party hosting service when you intentionally open an external
website or download. That service may receive ordinary connection information,
such as your IP address, under its own privacy terms.

You are responsible for backups of your adventures, packages and saved games.
The Licensor is not responsible for data loss except to the extent liability
cannot lawfully be excluded.

7. UPDATES AND SUPPORT
----------------------

The Licensor may provide corrections, updates or new versions of Sudos but is
not obliged to do so. Updates may change or remove features when reasonably
necessary for compatibility, security or continued development.

No particular level of support, availability or future compatibility is
promised unless the Licensor gives you a separate written commitment.

8. TERMINATION
--------------

This licence ends automatically if you materially breach this agreement and do
not remedy the breach where it is capable of remedy. When the licence ends, you
must stop using and distributing Sudos and delete copies in your possession or
control, except where applicable law permits otherwise.

Termination does not transfer ownership of Your Content to the Licensor. Terms
that by their nature should continue—including ownership, third-party terms,
disclaimers and limitations of liability—survive termination.

9. CONSUMER RIGHTS
------------------

Nothing in this agreement excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee,
condition, warranty, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded,
restricted or modified.

For consumers in Australia, Sudos comes with guarantees that cannot be
excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You may be entitled to a repair,
replacement, refund, cancellation or compensation where the law provides.
Any other limitation in this agreement applies only to the maximum extent
permitted by law.

10. DISCLAIMER
--------------

Subject to the non-excludable rights described above, Sudos is provided "as
is" and "as available". The Licensor does not promise that Sudos will be free
from every defect, interruption or incompatibility, or that adventure package
protection cannot be bypassed.

You are responsible for testing an adventure before distributing it and for
maintaining backups of source material and exported packages.

11. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
---------------------------

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Licensor is not liable for
indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from Sudos,
including loss of profits, opportunity, data or goodwill.

Where liability may lawfully be limited but not excluded, the Licensor's
liability is limited, at the Licensor's option, to supplying the software or
service again or paying the reasonable cost of having it supplied again.
This limitation does not apply where such a limitation would be unlawful or
unfair under applicable consumer law.

12. DISTRIBUTION PLATFORMS
--------------------------

If you obtained Sudos through a store or distribution platform, that
platform's terms and refund rules may also apply. This agreement is between you
and the Licensor, not the platform operator, unless the platform terms state
otherwise.

13. GENERAL TERMS
-----------------

If a provision of this agreement is found invalid or unenforceable, it will be
limited or removed only to the extent necessary, and the remaining provisions
will continue to apply.

A failure to enforce a provision immediately is not a waiver of that provision.
This agreement and the incorporated third-party notices form the agreement
about your use of Sudos, except for any separate written terms supplied with a
particular edition, service or distribution channel.
